São Francisco House
The São Francisco project consists of transforming an unoccupied and highly dilapidated building, located next to the medieval walls and the Arco do Repouso, into two houses arranged around a courtyard. The project reconciled the organization of the two houses, identical in terms of program and surface area, with the integration of a courtyard for each housing unit, in a non-contiguous position. In terms of construction, a structure of metal profiles was proposed, with a floor over a wooden structure and OSB panels, and the inclusion of walls made of solid, handcrafted bricks.
